2013 will be the 100th the Tour de France is run. It gets underway on 29th June in Corsica and will be run entirely in France. It is set to be a very exciting event and one of the hardest yet, with some of the final stages being described as brutal.
Although betting on the Tour de France can be quite frantic with the odds changing on a daily basis, it is still worth while putting on some early bets if you can secure some reasonable odds. In some ways it is even a little late for that, as there have been some clear favourites for some time.
The clear outright favourite is the British cyclist Chris Froome and he does appear to have every chance of winning, but at odds of 7/5 is this really a value bet? On the other hand the odds on Bradley Wiggins, the second placed Brit and the third favourite are 16/1. Yes he is a little tired and a little disenchanted, but he might pull it off and if he does and you didn’t back him you will be kicking yourself.
