The famous British rider Bradley Wiggins is reportedly focusing hard for a great win in the upcoming Giro d’Italia which is about to start in May this year. The high profile Sky cyclist is on an attempt to bypass any comparison with the past year as he starts on his new season in 2013.
Last year, Wiggins secured the 3rd position in Tour of Algarve & won Paris-Nice. By the April end, he won Romandy Tour & Criterium du Dauphine in June. But this year, instead of Tour de France, Wiggins is planning for Giro d’Italia chiefly.
As per the reports, after winning Tour de France & Olympic time-trial, Wiggins decided that he will be doing something different in the year 2013. Instead of focusing on Tour again and racing the similar program, the rider is determined to head towards south this time for Giro d’Italia that would be hosted at Naples. The famous British sprinter from Sky Team started on his season this year with Challenge Majorca (with 161 & 152 positions) followed by Tour of Oman (74th) and Catalonia Tour (5th) last week, Apart from the Catalonia performance, his performances in the other races show an absolutely different start for him this season in comparison with the previous season.
“The Giro d’Italia is something that I would actually love to attempt & win. Thus, it’s like taking to a different order of challenges that were not prevalent in the last year”, stated Wiggins while stressing high on his focus to win in Giro this time. The high profile British rider is into island hopping these days between Majorca & Tenerife. According to sources, he is exercising hard in gym daily prior to his stages taking training session in Majorca. His prime concentration is on squatting sessions and core stability workouts.
